My #WeekendCoffeeShare

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!

Grab a cup of coffee and share with us!  What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans?  Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

*

Come on up and have a seat. I’m six feet away. I’m not sure I should fix you a coffee, so let me get my mask and I’m glad you are wearing one and you brought your own coffee! I drink mine black, you?

The last couple of weeks have been a challenge both physically and mentally. Today, I’m in a better place… not sure why, but I’ll take it.

First the stone- it started rolling but got stuck so I had another sonic blasting procedure. The anesthesiologist had trouble inserting the intubation tube, so my throat and neck were more of a concern than the blasted stone (which went into hiding-claws dug into the sides of the ureters). The bruise above my lip is very faded today, and last night—– 🥁—– a stone fragment made its way thru. Maybe that’s why my mood is a bit lifted…. the possibility of another procedure was not what I want. So stone!!! Move on out!! I have pain meds!! Let’s not drag this on for another three months (the first blast was in January).

It’s 84° F and windy right now. My plants that got battered by hail are reviving. The cookies a friend sent to cheer me up were yummy…. and I’m still not exercising. Maybe the bike will treat me nicely. (It’s not much, but I try 10 minutes a day-but haven’t for two weeks.)

Here’s another view from where I’m sitting. (I love this carport.)

As the wind chimes chime, I’ll say thanks for stopping by… I should go eat some lunch!

  2. I enjoyed this little glimpse into your world. 84 and breezy sounds pretty perfect to me. I think we have about 25F. The rain have disappeared and there’s some sun fighting the clouds. Almost time to go for a long walk. Just waiting for my washing machine to finish up first. Thank you for your company.

  3. Ouch! I’m not surprised you’re off the bike. That sounds miserable. I am glad you are feeling better. From 6 feet away and being stifled by a mask, I think you are safe from any germs. Oh, I’d like tea, please.

  4. *makes myself comfy, and breathes deeply under this blasted mask. Occasionally I slip my staw up under it so I can have iced coffee with almond milk*
I’ve been there – those blasted fragments are misery – and passing them is no darn fun. People say the pain is comparable to childbirth, but I disagree. For one thing, childbirth generally has a set amount of time – it may – at worst – be a few days, but there are drugs and support staff and a lovely new baby to show off. With a kidney stone it can take months, the passing of the grit is absolutely criminal, and NO one is impressed when you show the stone fragments you’ve passed! All I can say is that water is your friend.
This is a nice place to sit and people watch, listen to birds, and chat about cats. What it’s like to write in wordpress, and how rotten this stupid virus is. I’m thankful to have some chat time, I miss my kids and grandkids. I want to hear some of your stories, about how you came to be the woman you are.
I putter off, waving as I get in the car, and thank you for hosting. I really need to do this at my place!

  5. Love the view from the carport! Looks and sounds (wind chimes) like a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Hope the tea refill is close to your hand. I have coffee morning and evening, the rest of the day it’s loose-leaf English Breakfast tea in a ceramic teapot with rotating tea balls, so they have time to dry out between. Thanks for the visit, and best wishes for your week!
